Dreams require a LOT of encouragement because, let’s face it, claiming your dreams is hard. You get stuck. You run out of steam. You don’t know which way to go. You backslide. You lose motivation. All these potholes can lead to discouragement. They can cause you to begin to doubt, to begin to think that you can’t do it. You might think that your dream is too big, too crazy, or too unrealistic However, God uses other people to help you keep going.

God tells us to “encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing”1 Thessalonians 5:11.

God gives us the gift of each other. And you know what? Today, you are someone else’s gift as much as they are yours. You may be as Moses was to Joshua “encourages and strengthen him (Joshua), for he will …” – Deuteronomy 3:28.

You never know what someone is destined to do. Joshua was getting ready to lead the Israelites to inherit the promise land. What destiny does God have for the person God puts in your path?

The secret about encouragement is that when you don’t have anything left to give, that is exactly when you should encourage another person.

You need to fill in order to be fulfilled. It’s the way God made you. You pour yourself out, He fills you up. Yes, we need to rest and takes breaks. Yet encouragement doesn’t take a lot of effort. Text someone an inspiring quote. Like their post. Send them a letter. Give them a hug. Tell them they look nice. Tell them you appreciate them. All these things have a HUGE impact on someone’s day. Impacting their day impacts their dreams, because you give them just a little bit more fuel to keep going. You give them a little more hope to keep believing. Isn’t that worth the effort?
