Do you ever feel like you’re pushing a string? You are working hard but nothing appears to be happening? You are trying your best and you feel like giving up? Well friend, that is the time the enemy wants you to give up and this is the time that God is preparing you to flourish. But you’re getting tired and your perseverance is waning.
While the things that you’re doing don’t seem to matter, they are actually building you up as you display perseverance. Your actions are equipping you. Here are two examples of what I mean.
Working without recognition: You feel like what you do doesn’t matter. You feel like you’ll never get “there.” You feel that you’ll never achieve your dream. You wish someone would notice your perseverance. But you forget how you’ve already helped people. Even if you’ve helped one person, let that encourage you that you’re moving in the right direction. Let that be enough. God sees your hard work and He recognizes you.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,” – Colossians 3:23
Planting seeds that you don’t see grow: You are doing so much, but you don’t see the fruit of your labor. This doesn’t mean that there isn’t any. You may be planting seeds that someone else is harvesting. Every good thing you do, God assures you will have a positive outcome; whether you see it in your lifetime or not.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will deep a harvest IF we do not give up” – Galatians 6:9
You see how God IS working in your obscurity? My prayer is that you continue your work and let it fulfill you. That you let it nourish you knowing that God sees you. I pray that you continue to read His word, pray, serve others, work as if you’re working for the Lord, and you will continue to grow more beautiful and reflect Christ. In Jesus name, Amen.
