Knowing that God is with you allows you to be free. Can you imagine what you could accomplish if you were living in freedom? Yet the things that prevent you from really knowing God are lies from the enemy. They prevent you from being all you can be in Christ. They prevent you from claiming your dreams. You see the enemy is scared of the power you have in Christ, so he does all he can to separate you from God by using lies.

The good news is that you have a powerful weapon and that is the truth found in God’s Word. You can fight those lies with God’s truth but it takes intention and practice. You would not show up to a sword fight without first having some training. Yielding the weapon of God’s Word in the same thing. You have to know God’s Word to be able to fight. The only way to know God’s Word is to read it. Over time you will remember full verses or fragments of verses. There are so many powerful tools to help you along the way like YouVersion (an audio bible app) and even Google.

What are the top 3 lies that you believe are preventing you from claiming your dream?

To help you out, I will share mine. Here are the top 3 lies that I have believed and still struggle with some days. But each day God shows me more of His truth, as I dive into His Word, to help me to conquer these lies I find myself living in freedom.

LIE: You’ll Never Be Good Enough.

TRUTH: God doesn’t agree with this lie. In fact, he has something different to tell you. He thinks enough of you that He calls you His child. If you are good enough to be a child of God, the worry about being not good enough in this world will melt away as you believe this truth.

So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child…… – Galatians 4:7

LIE: You’re Unlovely. Not Worthy of Love.

TRUTH: It can be very easy to feel less than. Not worthy. Especially when you compare yourself to other people in magazines or on social media. It can really put a strain on your self-esteem. But God doesn’t see you the way you see yourself. He sees you as valuable. He sees you as His.

So don’t be afraid you are worth more than many sparrows – Matthew 10:31

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I am fearfully and wonderfully made – Psalms 139:13-14

LIE: You Don’t Matter.

TRUTH: You mattered enough to God for Him to send His son to die for you. You are the apple of His eye. His very heart.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16

My prayer for you today is that you find verses in the Bible to combat the lies that you are believing about yourself.  In Jesus name, Amen.
